Parents and Players
Marcy and Myself would like to welcome all
of you to the ladies soccer program at Tecumseh High School. This is my
tenth year at the helm of the Ladies Soccer Program and it is Marcy's
second year as my assistant. I felt that we had a very good relationship
with the ladies last year and are looking forward to this year. We think
that we have created and exiting program this year with the addition of
Wayne and Northmont to our schedule. It is going to be a tough schedule
but we have confidence that we can handle the extra pressure. If you don't
know we have finished out of first place by one game each of the last
three years and I think it is time that we finished first.
I have been in coaching for twenty seven
years and hold a D license and Marcy has been in coaching for five or six
years and also holds a D license. Marcy also played and was on Wayne's
varsity for four years. I have coached select soccer for 20 years. I also
attend the NSCAA conference each year and I am a member of the National
Coaches of America. This helps get our ladies on the all area teams at the
end of the year and also national teams if they qualify.
Mary and I will try to teach the ladies
good sportsmanship, good team play and good individual skills. We will try
to advance them to the point where they will be ready to play college
soccer and hopefully they can earn a scholarship to pay there way. We have
had several girls sign National Letters of Intent to go on to college. We
also help the girls to be observed by college coaches by sending cards and
letters to colleges. We also run a camp in July that we help the girls
with the skills. We also notify them of soccer camps that are being run
during the summer that will help them. We also encourage kids to try the
sports acceleration courses that are available to them.
Mary and I both hope that your child's stay
with us in high school is a pleasant experience and one that they will
want to stay in. We know that if they do stay they will have a wonderful
learning experience and they will have a good time. If at anytime you have
