Tecumseh 4 Springfield 0
The Wildcats of Springfield High School provided a non-league, varsity-only contest for the Tecumseh Boys Soccer team September 20. The new Springfield High School is a result of the recently combined North and South high school campuses. The bulk of the Wildcats’ players came from the old North High School as South had no soccer team. The Arrows had no luck at Springfield’s goal despite repeated attempts until 23:47 in the first half. Junior Zach Schwartz made a run at the Wildcat net, dribbled the ball around the keeper and tapped it in.

Tecumseh 4 Indian Lake 1
Tecumseh Boys Soccer took the lengthy bus ride north to Logan County September 17 to play the Lakers of Indian Lake High School in this CBC contest. The Lakers have the unnerving habit of scoring first on the Arrows when Tecumseh plays an away contest at Indian Lake’s home field. This game kept the tradition alive. It took the Lakers a while to do it but with merely 2 minutes remaining in the first half, Indian Lake’s #6 dribbled past two Arrows’ defenders to sink the ball in the Tecumseh goal.

Tecumseh 0 Wayne 7
The Arrows took on the Warriors of Wayne High School September 13 in a non-CBC contest in Tecumseh’s Spitzer Stadium.
The Warriors, perennially a juggernaut team, were no different this season. Entering this contest, Wayne sat 4-3-0 with their only losses coming from other heavy-duty D-1 teams in the Greater Western Ohio Conference. Go to complete report by Gary Chandler. JV: Tecumseh 2 Wayne 2.

Tecumseh 1 Graham 1
Tecumseh Boys Varsity Soccer joined battle with the Falcons of Graham High School on September 10. This away match for the Arrows was a CBC conference game for both schools. Graham hit early on the Arrows at 31:37 off a well-played cross inside the Arrows’ 18. An alert Falcon soared upward to head the ball past Tecumseh keeper Jacob Heckman for a first-of-game score.

Tecumseh 3 Ben Logan 2
Tecumseh Boys Soccer clashed with the Raiders of Ben Logan High School September 8 in Spitzer Stadium for the Arrows fifth game of the 2008 season and third CBC contest. Head Coach Jason Runner’s 3-1 Arrows (2-0 CBC) were hoping to notch their gun with another CBC victory over the Raiders. Tecumseh wasted little time blasting their way to the scoreboard.

Tecumseh 5 Northwestern 3
Tecumseh Boys Soccer bussed cross-county September 3 to take on Northwestern High School’s Warriors; the season’s second CBC match for both schools. The Warriors, coached by Bob Caldwell in his first year with Northwestern, were 3-1-0 (0-1 CBC) while the Coach Jason Runner’s Arrows were 2-1-0 overall and 1-0 in the league. The Arrows launched into the first half with a quick goal at 34:28. Senior Zach Marlowe’s distribution up the middle lit the fuse for junior Zach Schwartz to explode into action. Schwartz, collecting Marlowe’s pass- through ball at the 18, pumped off a vibrant shot that the Warriors’ keeper was unable to block from skidding into the goal.

Tecumseh Boys Soccer trekked to Fairborn High School August 30 for the Arrows’ third game of the season and first away contest.
Head Coach Jason Runner’s Tecumseh 11 were 1-1-0 (1-0-0 CBC) coming off their 3-2 win August 27 over Greenon. The Fairborn Skyhawks, positioned in the Greater Western Ohio Conference’s south division, entered the contest 2-0-1 with all of their previous efforts non-divisional matchups. Tecumseh 3 Greenon 2
Played under an August 27 threatening, rainy sky, Tecumseh Boys Varsity Soccer took on the Knights of Greenon High School in Spitzer Stadium. The Arrows were still smarting from their season-opener 1-0 loss to Butler on August 23. With this Greenon-Tecumseh match-up the first Central Buckeye Conference contest for both schools, each team felt it crucial to log a win in the league opener. The Knights were undefeated with a win and a tie in their previous two non-conference games.

Tecumseh 1 Troy 1
Tecumseh Arrows Boys Soccer voyaged north to Troy Memorial Stadium Oct. 6 to take on the Troy High School Trojans.  With each squad positioned in different conferences, the Trojans and the Arrows have no league grudges to settle, but the annual meeting of these two D-I schools always has team pride on the line.  This year’s game showed nothing had changed.  Go to complete report by Gary Chandler.

Tecumseh 1 Stebbins 1
Tecumseh Arrows Boys Soccer opened up a new month Oct. 1 in a CBC league contest against the Indians of Stebbins High School. This was an Arrows’ away game played in the Indian’s Edmonson Stadium. Statistically, very little separated the 6-4-2 Tecumseh squad (5-1-2 CBC) with the 6-2-3 Indians (4-1-2 CBC) and each team needed to scratch out a victory to remain competitive in the conference.  Go to complete report by Gary Chandler.

Tecumseh 1 Shawnee 2
Tecumseh Boys Soccer embarked on their 12th game of the season before a home crowd in Spitzer Stadium as the Arrows hosted the Springfield Shawnee Braves. A win in this CBC match was crucial for both schools to keep their league standings healthy and stay on-track for a CBC Kenton Trail division title. The Braves and Tecumseh were both undefeated in CBC play and the team claiming victory in this contest would make a strong jump in league stats.  Go to complete report by Gary Chandler.

Tecumseh 1 Tippecanoe 1
The continuing rivalry between Tecumseh Boys Soccer and their Tippecanoe High School counterparts might not be on the same epic scale as Ohio State vs. Michigan, but try telling that to the players from either high school’s team. The Arrows and Tipp City’s Red Devils are perennial challengers for top spot in CBC’s Kenton Trail division and this year’s encounter was no different.  Go to complete report by Gary Chandler.

Tecumseh 3 Springfield North 2
When a High School Soccer Team scores on their opponent in the first 42-seconds of the game, it could be easy to believe they’d come across a weak adversary, to be exploited at will. But Tecumseh Arrows Boys Soccer discovered this wasn’t necessarily true Sept. 22 in their non-league game with the Springfield North Panthers. After getting the ball into the Panthers’ net seconds after game’s start, it hardly proved to be the path to an easy, surefire Tecumseh victory.  Go to complete report by Gary Chandler.
